A cada dia que passa a ansiedade por um novo disco do Foo Fighters aumenta, e muito devido aos integrantes da banda.
Recentemente integrantes do grupo começaram a falar sobre como já estão trabalhando no sucessor de Wasting Light, dizendo sempre que o álbum será excelente e que a banda irá gravá-lo de uma maneira que ninguém fez antes.
Agora foi a vez do próprio Sr. Dave Grohl voltar a falar a respeito e o clima de mistério misturado ao entusiasmo continua, com a novidade de que o novo álbum já estaria praticamente pronto em uma fita K7 do cara.
Voltamos ao estúdio nas últimas semanas. No último ano enquanto não fiz nada do Foo Fighters, enchi meu gravador de fita com ideias para músicas. Aí eu apertei o botão “rewind”, ouvi e pensei, “Oh meu Deus, já tenho um disco! Wow, essa foi fácil.” E é só questão de entrar em estúdio e gravar. Nós temos nossa pequena fábrica de hits no estúdio 606. Gravamos outros projetos depois do Sound City. Estamos gravando material do Foo Fighters nesse exato momento.
Sobre a tal maneira misteriosa de como gravar o álbum, Grohl voltou a fazer suspense:
Eu tenho uma ideia que eu acho que ninguém fez no passado, e vamos tentar. Nós não querermos entregar nosso segredo ainda, mas está acontecendo. E estamos muito empolgados com isso. É muito mais um processo de envolvimento do que apenas gravar um disco, porque isso já fizemos antes. E todo mundo faz. Então, a essa altura, a gente quer nos desafiar com algo que é mais do que sentar e fazer um disco para que você possa vender um monte de camisetas depois.

Vou dizer que é bem claro o que temos, e é excitante. Teremos um novo disco do Foo Fighters e vai ser foda!

Recently, Dave Grohl revealed even more about the Foo Fighters’ upcoming album. While things are still remaining vague, there are some surprises below:
Grohl claims the song ideas are ready, but the recording is not yet finished. “We’ve gotten back into it in the last couple of weeks,” he said. “Over the past year when I haven’t been doing any Foo Fighters stuff, I’ve been loading up my cassette recorder at home with song ideas. Then I hit rewind, listened back and thought, Oh, my God, I have a record! Wow, that was easy. And it’s just a matter of getting in the room and banging it out.”
Grohl also revealed the recording process so far has been present at Sound City studios. “We run our own little hit factory at 606. We’ve done a couple other projects since Sound City. We’re recording Foo Fighters stuff as we speak.”
The Foo Fighters frontman believes they are doing something completely original regarding the upcoming album. “I have this idea that I don’t think anyone’s done before, and we’re going to try it. We don’t really want to give away our little secret yet, but it’s happening. And we’re pretty psyched about it. It’s much more of an involved process than just going in to make a record down the street, because we’ve done that before. And everybody does that. So at this point, maybe let’s challenge ourselves to do something that’s more than just sitting down and making a record so you can go out and sell a bunch of T-shirts.”
“I’ll just say it’s pretty clear what we have, and it’s exciting. We’ll have a Foo Fighters record and it’s going to be fucking great!”
